At the begining of the 1960s, many Balinese woman in rural areas still walked around with bare breast, on the roads, on the path between villages, at market and while working in the fields. However at the end of 19th century the colonial rules tried to enforce regulations in Bali to make Balinese women cover their breast as they saw it as improper and seductive. This painting will bring you to the old times in Bali island and see the history through the canvas.
